Our Vision

Ana House is a faith-based organization serving women in the Kankakee area who are struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. The Ana House program will approach recovery from addiction in a holistic way, through individual and group counseling, education & career placement, health awareness (including diet & exercise), exploring other avenues such as essential oil therapy, as well as healing familial relationships, and social skills training.

Prayer Ministry

Prayer Ministry is a way of counseling where through prayerful seeking and sharing, one can expose the roots to their behavior. Hebrews 12:15 states, "Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled." With Prayer Ministry, we search for these roots and with the help of God, healing them, leading to a more productive life.

Curriculum

Ana House will utilize the Genesis Process, a Christian curriculum which delivers knowledge of the brain and its functions as it relates Biblically. From the Website Home page:

"The Genesis Process provides both a [biblical] and neuro-chemical understanding of what is broken that causes us to be self-destructive..." The Ana House recovery program will be an 18-month program, and scheduling of the program will be based on the completion of the modules of the Genesis Process.

Find out more about the Genesis Process here.

Church & Meeting Attendance

Church attendance will be a requirement. Friday night is our weekly recovery meeting and residents will be required to attend outside AA/NA meetings as well. Transportation will be provided to all outside requirements.

Life Coaching

Life coaching, such as social skills training, job searching, resume  writing, some job skills, guidance in seeking education, or perhaps taking GED courses either inside or outside the house if needed.

Holistic Services

Other services such as exercise classes (under the advice of a medical physician), health and wellness classes, meal planning, and therapy using essential oils will be provided if residents choose to participate. Only exercise, meal planning and shopping will be required, but residents will have the opportunity to choose to participate in further health and wellness goals, such as specialized diets, and aromatherapy.

Graduate Program

Our vision is to host a graduate program which will succeed the 18-month program. This would be for residents who wish to continue in Ana House, helping others through the curriculum. The curriculum is designed in such a way that those who complete all modules will already act as leaders for the earlier modules during their 18-month stay. We also would like to provide affordable apartment housing for these individuals, and perhaps even as Ana House grows, increase our staff through the graduate program.
