Our Mission
A not-for-profit organization, Ana House will be a beacon in the dark, bringing the healing light of Jesus Christ to the heart of Kankakee and surrounding areas, specifically to women struggling with addiction to alcohol and drugs.
With the Meekness of Christ (our foundational scriptures)...
2 Timothy 2:24-26
And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
The Greek translation of "to recover themselves" is “Ananepho” – meaning a “return to soberness.”
The Director
Tracy McKenney is a visionary, with a heart-felt desire to assist women who are entangled in the stronghold of alcohol and drug addiction, through the redeeming power of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It was with this very power that she was able to overcome these strongholds herself, and it is her vision to show women who are struggling that they too can overcome in the same way.
Tracy is currently enrolled at Governors State University to attain her Master’s Degree in Drug and Alcohol Counseling and will seek licensure within the State of Illinois. She obtained her Bachelor Degree in Psychology with a specialty tract in Psychobiology of Addictions from Purdue School of Science in 2005.
Tracy has been practicing recovery in her own life for a number of years, and is currently working as an advocate for women in recovery within Kankakee County. She has helped by offering transportation to and from meetings, referrals and help to obtain information concerning treatment, and mentoring/sponsoring women when the opportunity arises. It is her desire to continue this ministry within the walls of Ana House, offering a holistic, healing atmosphere encompassed in personal relationship with Christ Jesus.
